Joe Burt is a recent graduate of the B.F.A. Theatre Design and Technology program at Emerson College and is now based in Brooklyn, NY. While he focuses mainly in scenic design he also has experience in scenic art, costume design, properties, and various other forms of fine art. Credits; Emerson Stage; A Bright Room Called Day (1st runner up, scenic design KCACTF Region 1 2018), Measure for Measure (Scenic Design), Antigone Project (Associate Scenic Design), Titanic (Assistant Scenic Designer to Patrick Lynch). RareWorks Theatre Company; Octopus, Chalk, Clean, Bold Girls, Murder at the Carlson's. Mercutio Troupe; The Zero Hour, Blood of My Blood, Claustrophile, IPSEITY, American Ant Motel. He has 6 Emerson College EVVY award nominations for Outstanding Scenic Design and won in 2018 for Octopus and in 2019 for IPSEITY. Joe has spent three summers at Williamstown Theatre Festival; in 2016 as a staff scenic artist, in 2018 as the Nikos stage lead scenic artist, and in 2019 as an Assistant Scenic Designer to Clint Ramos, Arnulfo Maldonado, and Dane Laffrey.
